Cadence Beavers from Arizona went viral on TikTok a few days ago after posting a heroic video of herself rushing to save her sister's dog, MJ, who run into the pool and started drowning while she was performing one of her TikTok's dances.
Well done, Cadence!
Thankfully, they are both fine and the video reached more than 2M viewers and more than 9,000 comments by people who were interested in the well-being of MJ and praised Beavers for her life-saving action.
But like always, there were also many many TikTok users who have been quick to criticize her for stopping to take her shoes off and make sure her phone wasn't in her pocket. Beavers decided to answer them all in a follow-up video she posted a day later while she is cuddling with MJ: "Because I took off my shoes people think I value [material things] more than my animal's life and that's not the case. Just because I took off my shoes and checked if my phone was in my pocket doesn't mean I value those things more than my animal."
