When people say to us that cats are not our babies, honestly, we think that is offensive. To us. And to them. On a purrsonal level. Of course cats are not biologically our babies, pssh, but they're still our babies. How else would you explain their baby-like behavior? How else would you explain the silly reactions that they have to new things that we present them with?
How do you explain cats screaming at closed doors if not so that they could get inside and spend time with us? How do you explain our cats constantly sitting on our laptops if it's not to ask for our attention? How could you pawssibly explain why cats react so strongly when we meow back at them sometimes? It has to mean that they're trying to communicate with us too. And how could you explain this cat and boy reacting to a helium balloon in the exact same way if they are not, in fact, both babies?
