One of the things that we love the most about big cats is that they are basically house cats… just bigger. The same way that house cats have their own quirky and silly little habits and purrsonalities, big cats do too. And those personalities are oh so similar to those of house cats. Caracals sometimes nag their humans by jumping onto their desks while they are working, just like house cats do. Bobcats are just as clumsy, grumpy and derpy as house cats. And the same way that your cat sometimes has an intense battle with your ankle for no apparent reason, sometimes, baby jaguars fight their momma's ears… and lose.
And some big cats can be shy, just like your little house kitty who runs away and hides under the best every time a stranger comes into the house. That happens to cheetahs specifically all the time. Which is why it has become a surprisingly common practice to pair shy cheetah cubs with overactive playful-as-heck puppies. So they could become braver and make a friend at the same time.
