We don't know if you know this, but in shelters, cats who reach 1 years of age are considered "old for adoption". Crazy, isn't it? When the average lifespan of a housecat is anywhere between 13-20 years, a cat that is 1-year-old is basically still a baby. But people generally only want to adopt kittens. We get why. Kittens are adorable. But we wish more people would give other cats a chance too. Kittens who are sick, felines who have behavioral issues, cats who are older - they all have so much life to live and so much love to give.
Most people wouldn't have done what this woman did. She saved not one but two animals - a kitten that was on the verge of crossing the rainbow bridge far too young, one that the vet believed had little to no chances of surviving, and a dog who was scheduled to be euthanized literally the next day. She saved them, took care of them, adopted them, and now, all of them are happy and thriving and are best friends.
