The annual Met gala usually takes place on the first Monday in May, but COVID-19 meant that fashion's biggest event of the year was put on hold. This didn't stop fashion fans from celebrating anyway, many of whom took part in the #MetGalaChallenge. The initiative was started by Vogue and Billy Porter and invites Instagram users to recreate some of their favorite red carpet looks of the past at home. Not only did they jump at the chance, but the DIY results of these fashion enthusiasts are absolutely incredible, especially given that most of the outfits are made using whatever the creators can find at home.
