Walter the Dorito-Shaped, Tabby Cat Stares Into Your Soul and Gets Ridiculed For It

Meet Walter, a long haired orange tabby cat who is best known on TikTok for his great listening skills and just-too-long stares. But the most wonderful thing that Walter offers us online, is his never ending stream of quirky, off-brandness that sets him apart from the other house pets. He lurks around every corner, sits awkwardly in human chairs, and his owner always points out his weird antics. Is he happy about this? Or is he simply the butt of every joke that he accepts with wide-eyes and an expressionless flick of his tail. 

Everyone’s pet becomes the brunt of joking every once in a while. Pets do laughable things like lick their butts, roll on their backs comically, and stumble off the couch, but at what point does light and playful teasing turn into bullying? For a pet, they don’t recognize that everyone is smiling and laughing at their expense, they are just overjoyed to be a part of everyone’s good mood. 
 

Similarly, Walter takes verbal jabs like a champ. Sometimes he is a bit strange and stares dead-eyed into the camera with his mouth slightly agape, but other times he responds with a playful mew, aware that he’s the star of the video and the source of delight for his owner, as well as his adoring audience.

In many of his videos, Walter is belittled for his fluff, his shape, and his size. Everyone loves an animal with a little more cushion saddled around their hips anyways, so really, his owner is giving him compliments on his feline beauty. Truly, his fur is illustrious and silken, but it gives him a little more shapely silhouette. Not only that, but sometimes Walter will wait at the end of the hallway, furry wisps peeking around the door jam. Watching. Waiting. Perhaps he's waiting for his next cheeky treat or a pat on the head for being so darn cute.

Chonkosaurus

Perhaps Walter understands more than he leads on to. His all-knowing, unblinking eyes staring up at us as he sits like a human on his haunches. Albeit unsettling of a stance, it is quite endearing that Walter has so much focus. He doesn’t even seem to mind when he’s compared to a cheesy snack, a fat dinosaur, or a handsome, bow-tied 007.
