Honestly, could there be a more perfect adoption story out there?
Lynchburg Humane Society had a black cat in need of a forever home. This cat was named Dennis Quaid. Well, the news of Dennis Quaid reached none other than the actor Dennis Quaid himself. "It was really off the wall, but I just couldn't resist. I had to," Dennis Quaid told WSLS 10 News, "I'm out to save all the Dennis Quaids of the world."
Danielle Ulmer, Adoption Center Manager at Lynchburg Humane Society couldn't believe when she heard the news, "I was like there is no way this is real, like, someone is pranking us."
Jimmy Jellinek, co-host of The Pet Show, convinced Danielle Ulmer that this was real and soon enough, a Zoom call was made where Dennis Quaid got to meet Dennis Quaid. And vice versa.
"Maybe they should start naming animals in shelters after different celebrities and see who bites," Quaid joked. However, it's not a bad idea! And it looks like from the adoptable faces below, they're already taking Quaid up on his advice!
