Niantic, we're shaking our head. Again. We can't help but wonder what Pokemon GO would be today with a different development team at the helm, and we can't help but wonder what Nintendo was thinking in hiring such an inexperienced team to handle such a beloved and closely guarded franchise. Maybe Mario Flappy Bird will be better?
Anyways, we're shaking our head because Niantic has just botched the long awaited release of Gen 2.
More Pokemon are here! (kinda)Niantic announced that they had an announcement to make several days ago. Players (those left after a long line of terrible decisions) speculated that it might be the long awaited release of Gen 2. Unfortunately it was revealed that the update had no new wild Pokemon, and instead only added the ability to hatch Togepi, Pichu and 'select others' from eggs and that other Pokemon would be added over the 'next few months'.
The release of Generation 2 was supposed to be a revitalization of the game, the release that would bring back those that had frustratedly set the game aside. It would reintroduce them to a vastly improved game that had pulled its way out of an extremely awkward beta release. Instead we're getting this disappointing trickle that will be unlikely to bring many players back.
This is likely the last nail in the coffin for the fad that was PokeGO, and it's unfortunate that it was just that, a fad, because it had the potential to be so much more.
Players Can Now Hatch Pichu, Togepi and "Select Other" Pokemon From Eggs
