Take a piece of standard printer paper (A4 or letter) and place it vertically. Fold it in half long ways. Fold down the crease well, then open up the paper again.
Take the top left corner and bring the top edge of the paper to meet the right side of the paper. This will make a square shape folded into a half triangle at the top half of the paper. Smooth down the fold then open up the paper again.
Now do the same on the other side. Take the top right corner and fold it down so the top side of the paper meets the left side. Smooth down the crease.
Open up the fold and flip over the piece of paper. Place one finger on the center of the X made by the creases and fold down the top half of the paper.
Open up the fold and flip the piece of paper back over.
Slowly fold along the crease of the bottom left corner of the X creases and the bottom right corner of the X creases.
Still holding the bottom parts of the X, fold down the top part of the X so it makes a triangle pointing upwards. Smooth down the folds.
Hold down the left side of the triangle shape, and fold over the right side of the triangle to the left.
Take the edge of the right side of the paper, and fold it in to meet the center fold. Smooth down the outside fold.
Keep the right side folded and bring the top triangle piece back over to the right. Then fold over the outside edge of the left piece in to the center fold.
Keep the left side folded down and open up the top triangle. Now the two sides of the triangle will be placed over the folds underneath.
Fold the right side of the top triangle over to the left and fold most of the right side over, leaving about 2 mm from the outside crease. Smooth down this fold.
Open up the top triangle piece on top of the new fold.
Fold both pieces of the triangle over to the right side. Then fold the rest of the paper in half by using the center fold. Place the paper flat on the table.
Now take the top fold and fold it over to the left side to match the fold on the right on the underneath side.
Take the paper and fold it open.
Take the left side of the triangle and bring the outside edge to meet the center fold.
Now fold the right side of the triangle so the outside edge has come in to meet the center fold.
Take the bottom point of the right side of the newly folded triangle, and slide it underneath the horizontal crease underneath. Smooth the fold down.
Now do the same to the other side. Fold the left triangle point underneath the fold below it.
Fold the paper in half with the center fold facing the right side.
Swivel the airplane around so the center fold is facing you. Now bring down the top wing and fold it almost all the way down, leaving about the width of a finger between the new fold and the center fold underneath. Smooth down the new creases.
Flip over the paper with the pointed end facing the right.
Fold up the bottom wing to meet the top wing.
Fold the paper airplane in half and point the top away from you. Make a small fold in the bottom outside edge of the wing.
Do the same on the other side, folding the outside edge of the wing in about 1 cm.
Open up the paper airplane. And that's it! Your paper airplane is finished.
