Rastafarian Cats Get High-as-a-Kite and Learn the Real Meaning of “420” Bliss When Sampling Anti-Anxiety Medication, Making the Internet a Little Jealous

We all have anxiety. The world is sort of messed up, our neighbors make too much noise, and our childhood fear of bouncy houses is just a little too fresh sometimes. There are ways that people cope with their anxieties and sometimes, self medication is one of those coping mechanisms.

Pets get anxiety too, but for slightly different reasons: food anxiety, fear of loud noises, a new friend coming over, ANOTHER stressed out pet… you name it. Your cat may not be afraid of a bouncy house, but it’s most definitely afraid of the world’s most terrifying aluminum coffin.

Your car.

Jo Snymann, aka @vivienne131313, has two orange tabby cats that she raised from kittenhood that have some bouts of anxiety as well. While typically shown in their Australian abode cuddling on the couch or tinkering with flowers in the outside world, Jo recently shared their journey to greater unknowns. That of course required a better means of transportation and a short car trip.

Having failed several times before, and not willing to risk her upholstery again, Jo contacted her vet to acquire some of that good good to get the kittos settled down in the car and onto new adventures. And any pet owner would want their pet-children to be as comfortable as possible in a stressful situation, so she did what any loving parent would do. She got them really, extraordinarily high.

HOLD UP

Since the vet recommended that Jo do a trial run of the sedatives before embarking on her 8hr car journey, Jo did so willingly, recording the process and the cat’s reactions for both scientific reasons and entertainment.

Honestly, these two cats are SO HIGH that they surpass confusion and look as if they exited the planet. One cat even lifts his paw in amazement in the space above his head as if he’s seeing something beautiful that we can only imagine.

Part 2

Jo posted a follow up video documenting the actual drive itself and it was a raving success! Turns out, doping up your cats prior to a long drive not only sends them into euphoria, but also makes for an easy, scratch-free journey.
