Isn't it great how men know everything? It's actually such a wonderful thing. We don't have to think at all. Don't know how to put on a bra? Don't ask your mom! Ask a man! Any man really should be fine, they're all experts. Ceos of everything. We honestly owe them all a big thank you!
But seriously, why do men do this? Sure if you are a certified gyno, please tell me about my reproductive system, otherwise, STAY IN YOUR LANE BRAD!
Nicole Froio, a writer/researcher with a PHD on sexual violence and masculinity asked women to respond to her tweet with things that they have been mansplained to about. Some of them you may not believe are true, but really... are we surprised? Mansplaining is not new, it has probably been going on for centuries, if not millenniums.
Mansplaining is a product of men being told that women are meant to be taken care of. It's even hard for men to know that they are mansplaining sometimes. Men, if you can't tell whether you are mansplaining or not, ask yourself these questions: Do they ask for an explanation? Are you assuming their intelligence? Do these questions make you feel annoyed and defensive?
Some men, not surprisingly, were not too pleased to see so many replies to this tweet. Many made fun of how much time women have in their lives to respond to such topics on Twitter. They, of course, refused to acknowledge the fact that they also somehow ended up on the same tweet. But please do get angry, it really just proves Nicole's point further, and it's mighty entertaining as well.
