Being a woman is a constant challenge. We get paid significantly less and then objectified significantly more. We're always having to fight for more or less of something because we know damn well that nothing is going to be handed to us. It's amazing how much we put up with when you really think about it. Some things are so deeply instilled into societal norms that we don't even question them ourselves. Those are the scariest things, and the only people who can uncover such oppressive behaviors and call out society for their f**ked up constructs are the people who are subjected to it all. Aka women. Isn't that quite the shocker? That women know best the experience of being treated like a woman? Seriously, who would have guessed such an idea?
In this Reddit thread women share the messed up things they have to deal with each and every day.
Reddit user u/saintssacrafice asked women to share something that they experience which is considered 'normal' but they know deep down is really unacceptable. It is clear that there were many women who related to this idea because there were over 1k comments. It sad but true, many of these are very thought-provoking.
Yes! Apparently being kind to men is 'leading them on.' Who teaches them this? Why can't they see the difference between flirting and kindness? Are guys not kind to each other? I have always found this very bizarre. I think this related to the whole idea that 'men and women can't be friends.' They definitely give off the same energy.
