There are plenty of folks out there who have made nothing less of an art form out of donning different masks for different settings, with the ultimate purpose being to impress/manipulate those around them. It can get to be a pretty messed up situation. With that being said, this AskReddit thread has folks sharing the craziest, coolest things they were able to pull off just by pretending to fit in.

I was walking home past the concert venue during a downpour, stopped outside for a smoke next to the roped off smoking area where I was still covered. Just as I was finishing my cigarette one of the ushers walks over and tells me I need to stay inside the roped off area and holds it up so I can get under. Still no idea who the band was, I didn't stay long. They were singing that "everyday people" song from Toyota commercials several years ago.
