Tumblr Thread: Dog Too Shy To Be Service Dog Becomes The Best Rescue

Dogs with jobs are so amazing. One of the most amazing jobs that dogs have though in our opinion are helping other humans. Service dogs are so important, and they always do such important jobs. And while every dog who becomes a service dog is so, so important, not every single dog can become a service dog. Some of them are simply too good and gentle for that job.

That is the story of this gorgeous black Labrador pupper. The little guy was just a tiny bit too shy to become a service dog, so he ended up being a rescue. He still stayed the very best boy though, and the things he was taught in service dog school have definitely come in handy for him protecting his human.

    There just seems to be something so special about black Labradors. We can't point at why, but they are always the very best boys and girls. They're kind when they need to be, protective when they need to be, adorable beyond belief. They are absolutely pawfect.

    Yes, this might indeed be one of the very best doggo boys that we've ever read about. Clearly, his service dog past is still influencing his actions today, but the fact that he hasn't grown out of it at all is so sweet. He just wants to please all the time, and we... we just want to give him an endless amount of treats.

    Font - he knows that if it rains or snows or he gets wet he needs to wait at the bottom of the stairs inside their condo to be towel dried he is trained to towel dry himself; i hold out the towel and he wiggles his body through it back and forth until i dry his tail and that's his signal to go ahead and go inside he hangs out by my feet all evening making big impatient huffing noises until i go in the bedroom with him and sit up in bed doing whatever i'm doing so he can sleep by me

    Font - wearitcounts like i feel the need to reblog this post bc i neglected to include evidence: loves pets and attention but is shy so once given pets and attention basically loses his mind and rubs his face all over you while not knowing what to do with his entire 100 Ibs self always a slut for chin scratches spots of white on chest and toes and chin will pretend to be scary at men when they come into the house until i reassure him it's ok

    Font - christinamirabilis Follow Ahhh my parents have a black lab and she is an absolute angel as well - she does all of these things, she's so super polite and well-trained, and the absolute sweetest, most dedicated dog you'll ever meet. Additionally she has all of these soft toys that are her "babies". She never hurts any of them, and frequently carries them around in her mouth and sleeps with them.
