In this post to Reddit's popular community r/tifu, u/eyekona tells a tale about how their 1-year-old daughter grabbed a sweet on display by the checkout counter without OP noticing at first. When OP did notice, they attempted to do the right thing and go back to pay for the treat, but instead, she was accosted by store security and actually banned from the grocery store instead. The security guards even acted like they were doing OP a favor by not calling the police for something that cost less than a dollar.
What? Now this person has to go to an entirely different grocery store because they wanted to do the right thing and pay for the item their extremely young daughter took. There's no reason to ban anyone for this. Weird stuff. Way to not read a situation correctly, grocery store security.
