Server Says Restaurant With Full Bar Doesn't Have Cocktails, Customer Finds Workaround

This person's whole point about how making sure that you keep your expectations low can end up helping you not be disappointed as often is really right on the mark. The thing about this particular restaurant though is that they somehow outdid themselves when it came to offering lousy service. Like, how do you have a fully stocked bar, yet also not offer cocktails? Seems like a business opportunity is being a little missed out on.

(Seriously this was a BIG, very complete bar) Server - We don't have cocktails Me - (flabbergasted) Ummm, but you have everything you need to make them, right? Server - I wouldn't know. Server - Yes Me - Perfect, then please bring me a glass of straight gin, a glass filled with ice and a can of tonic water Server - Ok I seriously don't know what they expected to happen but they bring everything over and then I proceed to mix my own drink at the table while making eye contact with a big grin on my face. And since the glasses were highballs I actually got a double! It was hilarious to see the server huffing away.

    Font - virtualchoirboy · 1d My wife took a trip to Scotland a few years ago. In all the stops her tour group went to, none of the restaurants or bars would serve them a mixed drink.
