This isn't the first time that we've read about a homeowners' association driving an otherwise completely peaceful homeowner just a little bit crazy. Unfortunately, these HOAs seem to attract all kinds of Karens, ridiculously entitled residents, and petty tyrants who get caught up in wielding whatever meager amount of "power" they award themselves. Redditor u/useless_skin posted just the latest example of an HOA going wild on r/MaliciousCompliance, detailing how the association made their simple act of trying to install a gazebo in their yard a nightmare or just complaining about vegetation in their yard. They decided to start filing requests with the HOA for everything they wanted to change and went well out of their way to keep on asking for more information just to waste someone at the association's time.
We wonder just how much of that time that they'll be able to successfully end up wasting. For another tale of malicious compliance, check out the time that a customer asked a restaurant to cut a burrito in half, and then how the restaurant maliciously complied.
