You've got to hand it to the world's lot of individuals who work in the demanding field of tech support. They regularly deal with all kinds of impossibly clueless and sometimes even belligerent individuals. Seriously, it can get out of control quickly — which is exactly what happened in this story from r/TalesFromTechSupport. Redditor u/HoungryHoungryHippo went through it with a bizarre call from a customer who needed access to their account…. on a product this tech support employee's company didn't even support. Seriously — she called the wrong number, refused to accept that "you have the wrong number" was the correct answer to her problem, going as far as to ignore this kind tech support employee going out of their way to give her the right number to call. You can try to make it make sense, but it just doesn't compute that someone can be this dense. Unfortunately for this lovely customer, it appears they got in trouble at their own job when OP called her own workplace to let her manager know they were being harassed.
Yeah, kind of hard to troubleshoot that "issue." If you're hankering for more tech support revenge tales, check out this employee who caught a scammer red-handed.
