Font - BF1SHY · 21h 3 1 Award First big interview out of college. My professor set it up for me. She suggested I bring coffee to win favor with the people. I have never bought or drank coffee before this. I awkwardly order 4 large black coffees at a Starbucks down the street. I do not get any sugars, creams, etc. The coffee is hot and it's a hot summer day, using a cup holder still burns my hand. I show up at the company with 4 large coffees, on my walk over some of the coffee spilled out throug

Font - namevap672• 20h Like 20 years ago, I was interviewing with a big shot web agency. I was asked what make site I thought could use a redesign. I said eBay, which was a perfectly legit answer. I went on and on and on about it, giving great answers about user experience and how restructuring categorization would make things easier to find. Turns out he used to work for eBay and made some of the decisions I was critiquing. My suggestions weren't appreciated. G Reply 4 94 3 ...

Font - Gixx • 21h I was asked about what I did at a previous job and responded: I prefer my role X over role Y to avoid people since I generally don't like dealing with people. I know I shouldn't say that. The HR lady reassured me, "Hehe, oh no that is totally fine." Which translates to "You are now blacklisted. We are never going to contact you." I thought I got the job by her language. She said they plan on contacting me in the near future. But from now on l'll just remove variables that I can

Font - I turn around and see a fully stocked professional coffee bar behind me in the lobby area. I awkwardly sit and wait with the coffee. I am taken by a dude around the office WITH MY COFFEE. He sits me down in an area with some graphic designers and 3D modellers to show me what they do, I have no place to put my coffee so I make some room. I offer them coffee and see they all already have coffee.

Font - My coffee is luke warm at this point. We talk for a while I thank them for their time, I ask if I should leave the coffee they tell me to take it with me. I awkwardly leave with all 4 cups of coffee. I walk into the street and dump them all in the trash on the corner. But first I tried a sip from one of the cups, it was my first coffee taste test as an adult. I cringe so hard inside thinking about all this. Even to this day, almost 10 years late... Font - SpecificMost19 · 21h I had a friend who was in a car accident on his way to a major interview for his dream job. He only had minor injuries, but there was a good bit of blood. The wreck happened two blocks from the office, so after he dealt with the police and had his car towed, he walked there. He came in with blood all over his shirt and a bandage on his forehead, limping badly. He told the receptionist that he was running late for an interview. She buzzed the guy interviewing him, who

Font - KevlarConrad · 21h I was interviewing with a team of people. Four of them if I remember correctly. They all took turns asking me the normal questions blah blah blah. One of them asked how past experiences have shaped me into the type of individual they were looking for, a strong leader with problem solving skills. I started discussing some of the traumatic things that happened in my early years and went into a full blown meltdown. Ugly crying/sobbing and everything. All four of them slowl

Font - GuardPerson · 21h A long time ago, I was doing an interview with a company that was distributing VHS-tapes and DVD's of which the parent company was the studio. Trying to show off my knowledge of and interest in the various pieces of merchandising they had around the office as a positive thing, it apparently screamed to the interviewers: "This kid is going to rob everything that isn't of fire or nailed to the ground." Font - ObelusPrime • 17h I mentioned my age. I was super qualified for this job and had a great phone interview. I got invited to an in person interview and was also going great. I made an off handed comment which included my date of birth (I was 25 at the time). He completely shifted his tone and body language and said "wow that's young". His questions got short and then he thanked me for my time and ended the interview. O S Reply & 11 3

Font - Cernenc • 17h Had an interview at 9 am in the morning during covid. Ive prepared myself as well as I could and was just waiting for the phone call. 15 minutes pass by and I wonder why no one's calling. I decided to wait 5 more minutes before calling them, when the phone rang. They asked why I didn't show up and it just occurred to me, that they put their location in their mail. Because I've had phone interviews before, I just assumed this one would be one as well. Profoundly embarrassed a

Font - BitPoet · 18h Guy was applying for a job where I worked. He was my replacement at my old job after I left. On his resume he claimed a lot of my work as his own. The look on his face when I walked in for the interview, seeing his confused scribblings of my designs from his conversation with the my boss was pretty priceless. l'd told my boss what to prod him on, so it was more of a chance for him to show how he'd improved on the product/design. He just took credit for the whole thing. G Rep
