You know what, we find this not even slightly weird. We also speak to our cats - in every single language that's available to us. And languages that aren't available to us - like meowing. We will still use it. Even though we know we make endless grammatical errors. Our communication attempts have yet to be responded to, but... we shall keep trying.

If it was a human roommate doing those things, odds are we would have already moved out. But hey, it's a cat, and we are hella whipped for cats and will do anything for them. And cats know it, so they use it. We can only admire them for their powers over us really.
