There are an ungodly amount of apartment managers out there that try to take advantage of tenants. It's like these property managers have deluded themselves so much on their journey toward higher and higher levels of greed that they really never think through their actions — even when it's complete BS. It's an understatement to say we're thrilled to read this tale of pro revenge from a Reddit user who decided they were fed up with their management's nonsense. The tenant in question decided they were sick of property management telling tenants to park in a gravel lot that they didn't even own so they wouldn't have to take responsibility for security and did what any good citizen would do: call the city, which did own the lot.
All sorts of law enforcement and city officials descended on the lot in question after the OP's report; though they moved out soon after, they wrote that their most recent check on the area told them that rent had decreased 30 percent in the neighborhood, units are left vacant, and the property management staff had been replaced. All because of one phone call.
To keep the housing pro revenge drama rolling, check out this story about a greedy landlord who raised the rent so that the tenants wouldn't renew their lease, and then got what he deserved.
