There's nothing quite like being beholden to the opaque whims of a company when all you want is to have some food. Sure, organizations are great at achieving large-scale projects, but when a company is telling you precisely when it's appropriate to eat your dinner, things are stepping into the realm of absurdity. It's not like he was trying to buy a Christmas ham. They must have really missed that five cents. What a hard time for them.
The sad thing here is that he technically didn't go over his per diem, just this ridiculous "dinner" timing BS. It's always a big reminder that life is absurd when you find yourself being billed for pennies, like this guy who got hounded over a trivial debt and mailed them a dime. It's at least sort of satisfying to make the payment itself a hassle, like this tenant who paid off an unfair fee in 37 installments.
