Part of being a grown-up is understanding that other people have needs, values and busy days. And just because you want something really badly, that doesn't mean that anyone else is obligated to simply hand it over. Sadly, not a lot of "adults" are really all that grown up, and those of us who are decently reasonable constantly find ourselves doing rhetorical battle with people who seriously can't handle their own feelings. If only more of us had watched Mr. Rogers growing up, telling people "no" wouldn't be such an enormous minefield.
She thought that since she had a personal relationship with this person that they would gladly screw over their other patients to fit her kid in. But as it turns out, things don't work that way. How is it that all these entitled people think they can destroy someone's professional reputation over a pretty common inconvenience? What is their deal?
