Social Conventions That People Are Tired Of

Some traditions are in place for extremely good reasons. Others aren't. Call us horrible cheapskates, which we are, but having to give 5 bucks to Hallmark for a card with a picture of a dog that says "I hope you have an imPAWSibly fun birthday" is criminal and insane.  It may have made sense 50 years ago, but now it feels like we're throwing our money away. For some other things that have no good reason to be, here are the most expensive things that people witnessed.
