New Evidence Reveals Zodiac Killer Might Have Been A Guy Called Gary

Turns out Ted Cruz isn't the Zodiac Killer after all. A 40-member volunteer task force led by retired FBI agents that call themselves the 'Case Breakers' claim to have identified the Zodiac Killer. According to a press release, new evidence suggests that the killer was a man called Gary Francis Poste, who died in 2018. The press release states that 'after a statewide examination, the renowned sleuths have recovered new physical and forensic evidence, signed up eyewitnesses, filed court affidavits, and secured decades of pictures from Poste's former darkroom.' The document compares images of Poste's face to the 1969 facial composite based on eyewitness descriptions and notes similarities between forehead scars. Law enforcement agencies say that the Zodiac Killer case is still open and all claims the Case Breakers have made are alleged.

Once the news broke, it didn't take long for the internet to start their own little investigations. Many of those who looked into Poste's online presence found his name in the comment sections of various forums, where he supposedly dropped hints about being the Zodiac Killer. One Twitter user found a 2016 Metacritic review for Lady Gaga's 'Joanne' by an account called 'garyfrancisposte.' The comment read, 'A national treasure, like myself.' The review has since become its own meme, replacing Lady Gaga with other artists such as Weezer and Death Grips. @lilsasquatch66 posted a screenshot of a review for the 2015 movie The Hunt for Ted Bundy left by an IMDB user called 'Gary F. Poste,' reading: 'Ted Bundy is wildly overrated.' Another internet detective found the Facebook account of a man called Glynn Barnes, who posted pictures of himself casually hanging out with Poste in 2018. Some of the captions of these posts straight up refer to the Zodiac Killer. Pretty wild stuff.

Of course it's entirely possible that a lot of the screenshots people have been posting could have been fabricated. We haven't fact-checked any of this crap.
