Don't you just hate when people don't listen? Especially when you have important information to share? Important safety information?
Reddit user u/ImaginaryBroccoli6 took to the community r/EntitledParents to share a tale from her mother, stepfather, and stepfather's family, who took a trip to where their mother grew up. When one child in the family noticed a pool on the property, they ran right toward it, and their parent was quick to take fire when u/ImaginaryBroccoli6's mother warned them the body of water wasn't safe to swim in. With her character under fire, this mom decided she wouldn't use words to prove her point: she dropped a rock into the grimy, algae-filled water below. Underneath the murky liquid? Alligators. Several hungry alligators.
Obviously, keeping alligators on a private residence isn't typical behavior. But the fact that this lady even thought a swamp full of algae is something her child should swim in might indicate that she's not a wellspring of good ideas. It doesn't take a genius to look at that bog and think that it's not an opportune time to reach for the swim trunks. For another case of extreme parenting, here's the dad who demanded his son get to handle a gun without permission.
