One of the best parts this time of year is how we go from Thanksgiving fall vibes to Christmas winter wonderland overnight. We go from apple cider to eggnog real quick. And what better way to celebrate this transition than learning about the ultimate winter animal: the polar bear!
Imagine cozying up on the couch with a mug of hot cocoa, a warm blanket, and your friendly neighborhood polar bear. Except they aren't typically found on land. Did you know that although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their life in water? Pawsitively interesting stuff, right? If it wasn't dangerous for polar bears and humans to interact, I think the world would be extremely amused to watch that race. On top of that, I'd like to see Michael Phelps swim in sub-arctic water. What's black, white, and red all over? A polar bear with a sunburn. I know that joke typically accompanies a zebra or a penguin, but now polar bears can be added to the mix. It makes more sense now that we know their hair is transparent and doesn't reflect the sun. Having sun-absorbing black skin would be a bit counterproductive if that were the case...
