It's common practice for companies to try and take advantage of their most responsible employees, which leads them to wonder why they can't hold on to those responsible employees. Redditor u/tea_leaftea posted to r/AmITheAsshole to share exactly that happening to them; this 19-year-old gas station employee's manager and co-workers took massive advantage of them when one employee didn't show up to relieve OP for a night shift. They tried to make this poor kid work their shift the next day, too, after acting like everyone else didn't screw up by leaving them on their own.
It smells a lot like this guy's bosses were just trying to bully him for putting in his two weeks notice. OP here wrote that they felt guilty for the whole affair, but they were absolutely being treated unfairly.
