It seems that every couple loves to criticize how other people parent their children. Either they're too strict, or too loose, or too hands-on, or completely absent. It's amazing how quickly we can make snap judgements based on very little information and exposure. Everyone likes to look for weak spots and hold onto them for as long as possible.
Redditor u/Specialist_Badger934 posted to r/AmITheAsshole to ask if she was in the wrong for simply trying to make her baby's birthday party safe by only making vegan food — as it turns out, her daughter has quite a few food allergies. For some reason, her husband and his extended family were completely thrown off by this and it led to a weird standoff. As OP says, what kind of child's birthday party involves meals that the birthday child can't even eat?
How dare she force people to eat an egg-less cake. What do you think of this weird situation?
