Inside A Tarsier Sanctuary In The Philippines

We're so excited to show these Tarsiers from this animal sanctuary up close! If you're wondering, "What is a Tarsier?" Then don't worry, it isn't the most common species, and a lot of people haven't heard of it, we'll explain a little bit. According to Encyclopedia Britannica, a Tarsier is a word used to describe any one of 13 species of small leaping primates that are native to Southeast Asia. The species of Tarsier is not monkey, or lemur, although they are somewhat of a cross between both in terms of size, rather they are a pretty unique creature.

Be careful though, as Tarsiers can be quite shy!

According to the photographers, "Tarsiers are the most adorable creatures I have ever seen" and we have to agree! These big eyed beauties are truly special and so photogenic as well. It's such a special experience to be able to visit them in person and take photos, they're just too cute!

The Tarsier Sanctuary is located in a large and lush forest in Corella, Philippines.

Visitors at the sanctuary can explore the expansive and beautiful property while also admiring all fo the surrounding wildlife, particularly the Tarsiers, who roam freely around the sanctuary. Fun fact, these beautiful creatures are around the size of an adult man's hand, making them some of the world's smallest primates.
