If you're going to make an employee keep a detailed log of what goes on day to day and insist that they deliver it to you, you better make sure you read it. Redditor u/PugC took to r/ProRevenge to share this tale of how their micromanaging boss demanded exactly this and eventually failed to keep reading them; when disaster struck, the employee had proof that they had offered solutions that their boss had simply ignored because they weren't actually reading these logs.
This micromanager certainly reaped what he sowed. When it all went down, he was even embarrassed by the fact that OP had put inside jokes within the logs that the boss would have been in on — if he had bothered to do his job. Maybe if he had actually focused on results instead of asserting his power he would have had something more to go off of.
This guy sounds like the middle manager who tried to increase his bonus by putting more workload onto a smaller and smaller team.
