There is no view on life quite as unique as a child's. All that innocence, inquisitiveness and rapid brain development can give them a pretty funny sense of perspective on everything from scraping a knee to history-altering world events.
This has been underlined perfectly by a video from @laurensulli in which her brother takes a trip down memory lane with his elementary school homework. While you might not think you can get many insights from the workbook of a third grader, this particular task was a step up from multiplication tables.
The task appears to be a timeline of events in the child's life and what local or international news happened at a similar time. In Lauren's brother's case, this means that innocuous things like him going on his first fishing trip sit beside things like 9/11. Commenters were understandably taken aback by his interpretation of his homework, but it didn't stop them cracking jokes about his fatalistic attitude. Here's hoping that he got a good grade.
