Cats are always watching what we're doing. Whether you're leaving the lid off their food, forgetting the front door is slightly ajar, or leaving a precarious glass object at the edge of a table, they're always looking for an opportunity.
Opportunists cats are self-entertaining, self-feeding, and completely self-preserving, like most felines. Not only that, opportunistic cats are always the ones who are the most nosy, looking for ways to capitalize on the failures and oversights of those around them-- especially their owners. For Kristin Nell, a grad student with the most opportunistic cat in the world, her own downfall was the catalyst to her cat's unending and unhelpful entertainment.
While a cat can't do much from a window, they can certainly observe and fault those below them for their follies. No doubt cackling at the misfortunes of those on the street, while they're warm by the fire, flicking their tails with admonishment. So when Kristin got pulled over by the cops for failing to use a turn signal, lights and sirens called her kitty to the window for a front row seat to her demise.

Looking down on their owners is another common trait of opportunist kitties. 'Nice going loser,' they might purr to themselves, ‘You went and got stopped by the flashy, noisy boys again. Welp, nothing I can do but watch and laugh.’ The curious kitty also gives off an air of disapproval, staring down at her like that. As if she's a high school girl who came home after curfew, smelling like cheap beer and cigarettes. He is not angry, just disappointed.
Poor Kristin filmed her encounter with the police, red and blue light flooding the cab of her car as she peered upwards to her apartment, seeking reprise with a common ally. However, her desperate glance was thwarted by the mocking glare of her cat's silhouette, darkening the window above. It's too bad, Kristin, you should have just paid your registration early to avoid this sort of reprimand. IF ONLY YOU HAD USED YOUR TURN SIGNAL, KRISTIN.
You're never going to live this down, are you?

While Kristin Nell, aka @nellyeahhh, may never clash with the cops ever again, she certainly will never live down the humiliation of being watched by her cat, amongst other curiously nosy neighbors, while she got her knuckles smacked by the hand of the law.
