Enraged Guy Asks to See Retail Worker's Manager, They Don't Actually Work There, Guy Loses His Mind
How many times do you have to tell someone that you don't work somewhere before they will listen to you? Apparently, that number is greater than three.
Redditor, u/LadyAzimuth, works for a marketing company that rents space to operate kiosks in stores. In this case u/LadyAzimuth works at a kiosk selling credit cards within a hardware store but does not work for the hardware store itself. Nor does she know anything about the location and contents of that store.
Now, it's no secret that hardware store employees are notoriously hard to track down. Here in New Zealand (and Australia) there's a running gag that Bunnings employees will run away from customers when approached or, otherwise, actively work to avoid ever encountering a customer. Without fail, there is never an employee to be seen.
I was in a hardware store just yesterday to get a new socket set and was forced to wander aimlessly for tens of minutes before stumbling across the elusive socket section. Once I had made my uninformed and inexperienced selection of products I navigated my way to the checkout. There was, again, no one to be found.
So, in that way, perhaps, I can understand the frustration. Although, that wasn't the emotion I was feeling at the time. My feelings were probably more akin to what Lewis and Clark were feeling when they came across the end of the Missouri River and realized they were going to have to carry their bloody canoes across land.
At no point did I feel the need to abuse the next unfortunate soul I happened upon.
Now, I'm not claiming moral superiority here. But, instead of abusing a credit card salesperson, perhaps this male Karen (Kevin?) could stand to take a few deep breaths and head out into the unknown aisles of the hardened wares on an expedition of his own.

For more tales from the mind-numbing insanity that can be dealing with customers... Check out this time that Karen demanded that a retail worker write down "YOUR NAME" so that she could report them to their manager. They wrote down exactly what she asked!
Yes, this is so true. Where I used to work there were a handful of miserable S.O.B.s that stalked the aisles somewhat on the regular. They never wanted help and were always in a hurry. But lord have mercy if someone wasn't right around the corner when they actually needed help they went BERSERK! Emails to corporate about shitty service, yelling at employees about poor service, you name it.
You almost felt like asking "why do you shop here then? You don't ever have a good experience, so why come once a month?"
Oh, I know. When I worked at Tim Hortons there was a dude that came in every day yelling and shouting and demanding we make a new pot of coffee specifically for him and while we did he would always tell us how stupid we were and would just go on and on and on like DUDE. Chill tf out. How are you like this every day? lmfao
