Unreasonable Mom Fuming When Her Sister Won't Speak To Her Baby in Baby Talk

Parents have specific preferences when it comes to raising their kids. Some are way more strict than others, whereas some are super chill. There are parents out there who have completely gone off the walls when it comes to their preferences, some of which don't even make any sense. In today's 'Am I The A$$hole?' post, OP is unreasonably upset over the fact that her sister won't speak to her daughter in baby talk when she babysits her. It especially upsets her because her sister speaks to her cats in baby talk, yet she speaks to her niece as if she's an adult. We personally don't see an issue with the sister's behavior, and it sounds like OP is a little off her rocker if you ask us. If we were parents, we would want our children to learn how to speak properly from a young age, and speaking to them like an adult should ensure this result. We honestly don't get where OP is coming from, and it's definitely not worth losing a babysitter over it.

    OP should just be grateful that her sister is willing to help out with the baby. It's so strange that it bothers her that her sister doesn't speak baby talk. If anything, we would want our future children to be able to speak properly like an adult when they get older.

    Font - weekend that it bothers me but she brushed me off saying she's treating her like a person. She speaks to her cats in a baby voice all the time and when I mentioned this she told me her cats are never learning how to speak so it doesn't matter for them. I feel like she's dismissing my feelings as a mother and is prioritizes her cats over her niece.     We're totally on the sister's side on this one. She's providing babysitting services, and sane parents wouldn't have an issue with their kids being spoken to like other members of society.

Does this create a bad habit? If the answers are no, then appreciate your babysitters and just say thanks for watching the baby.
