via jonjohnjonjohn"Before we begin, I want to dispel one common myth. People say Deer constantly get their antlers and heads caught up in things. It's completely not true. So this post doesn't get derailed I will try not mention to it again."

"Deer eyes are on the side of their heads giving them 310 degrees of vision. Drumstick here using that advantage and is inspecting a light fitting. It is definitely not stuck."

"Donut here absolutely did not crash into a bird and get it stuck on his antlers. He is merely trying a new hat. Donut has made sure to keep his nose clear as deer often lick their noses to improve their sense of smell."

"In winter Deer are less active to conserve energy. In the spring they explore further and will often come into contact with humans. Dominic is going for a walk around the neighbourhood. There is nothing stuck in Dominic's antlers. Nothing at all."

"Almost all species of Deer have antlers. Dan here is helping a local move their basketball hoop. The only Deer that does not is the Chinese water deer."

"Dylan here is playing ball. Anyone who might say it's stuck is telling a lie. Because Dylan is male he's called a buck. A lady deer is called a Doe."

"Diamond is shy. That's why he is covering his face. It's common though as Deer are prey animals and are easily startled. As a result new born Deer have no scent to make them harder to find by predators."

"Reindeer are the only female deer which grow antlers. However all Deer love Christmas. Dixie here is helping put up lights."

"Dotty here is sad he lost his spots. When Deer are born they have white spots which disappear as they grow older. It helps them hide. Since losing his spots Dotty has chosen this headwear instead. He likes to look his best."

"During the mating season bucks will use their antlers to fight to get a lady. Sometimes they cheat and add extra armour like Duke has done here."

"Almost all deer are shades of light to medium brown. Some deer however find this a bit boring. Destiny here has added some colour to his headwear. It's not stuck, it's just how he likes it."

"Deer eat grasses, leaves, shoots and woody plants. Dreamer here is using his antlers to get his dinner just the way he likes it. A large deer eats around 2KG a day."

"All deer have a rather fancy four chamber stomach that allows them to chew, regurgitate and chew again. Making food easier to digest. Some deer however are more interested in fashion than food. Dumpling is trying on a new earring. Looks pretty good I think."

"Donut's wife is pregnant so he is bringing her a gift. The length of a pregnancy various according to the type of deer being between 180 and 240 days. Deer in tropical climates breed all year round."

"Deer have great eyesight and are mostly active at night and early in the morning. Dixie here is just finishing his chores before he goes out to search for food. Dixie is simply moving the bucket and it is in no way stuck."

"The largest deer species was the now extinct Irish Giant Deer. They reached 7 ft tall and definitely did not get their antlers stuck in anything. Doozy here hasn't either. He has simply made a small basket to carry his lunch around in."

"A deer can live up to 25 years however in the wild they generally do not live anywhere near as long. As a result they take Christmas celebrations very seriously. Daffy here is getting to be an expert at helping with the lights."

"A group of deer has a leader. Daffodil here is the leader of his herd. He has a busy job as the heard can have thousands of members. Daffodil added the plants to people know he's the boss. It was totally intentional."

"Diablo prefers to stay out of the way. He has hidden himself and is communicating by scent. Deer can tell others about sex, social status and physique using scent glands."

"Dimpes here has lost his testicles. It has causes his antlers to stop shedding and become very light and weak. He can however still help with decorations. Only the most festive Deer get promoted to reindeer which is why they work so hard at putting up decorations."

"The tissues present in the antlers of deer grow faster than any other tissues on the planet so they can get a little itchy sometimes. Ducky is just having a quick scratch, that's all."

"Dusty here had to jump high to get this red hat. It wasn't hard for him as most deer can jump up to eight feet high. They can also swim really well too."

"Every year antlers fall off and regrow. When they regrow they are covered in a furry coat called velvet. It is rich in nerves and blood vessels It also looks pretty fancy until the point it sheds. Dougle has only just got his antlers back and is making the most of it with a quick game of ball."

"I hope with this post I have dispelled any silly myths about them getting stuff stuck in their antlers. As you can see it almost never happens. I think Deer are pretty neat!"
