If we expected everything to go wrong all the time, we'd never get anything done. But if we expected everything to go perfectly all the time, we'd be constantly disappointed when things inevitably go sideways. Because of this, life is a tightrope walk of being optimistic enough to expect decent outcomes while also having a healthy, realistic understanding that there are times when no matter how hard you try, things will not go your way.
Maybe the hardest part is realizing that there are just so many ways that things can go wrong. Thought your biggest problem was getting to work on time? Well now a pipe burst in your house and you're not just battling your boss, but water damage. And no one wants water damage. You can always get a new boss. But new floors? That is a true nightmare.
Life is a nonstop tunnel of chaos, failures, blunders, goofs and mistakes. But at least we get the chance to ride through the tunnel. Wait, what's that smell. Is this a sewer? Uh oh
