We're used to hearing nasty stories about poor retail workers suffering at the hands of evil Karens across America. We generally don't hear about positive experiences from retail or restaurant workers because they're sharing negative things that happened to them at work for the most part. We stumbled on a Twitter thread that changed the narrative for once. Even though these workers endure so much unnecessary nasty behavior from customers, they still took the time to treat customers that were kind to them with kindness in return. Twitter user @jennycavallero tweeted about how an old lady told her she had nice skin when she was working the checkout line at Hobby Lobby, so she rang up her $30 item as $3 to pay it forward to the sweet customer. People who used to work in retail took to the comments to share their own experiences of being kind to customers who were kind to them, and even a few customers chimed in to share moments they remember when employees went above and beyond for them.
Be like this old lady and make a stranger's day. The best practice is to kill 'em with kindness.
Tell us we're pretty and we'll do anything for you too. Jenny speaks the truth in this tweet.
