Nintendo's 'Kirby and the Forgotten Land' Inspires Mouthful of Memes
On Wednesday, Nintendo announced a number of new additions to Switch and exciting coming releases, including Mario Strikers: Battle League, Splatoon 3, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. But out of all the demos and announcements, Kirby clearly stole the show. Nintendo's trailer for Forgotten Land begins with a slick-looking Kirby waddling through a vaguely post-apocalyptic landscape and attempting to swallow an abandoned car, thus becoming "Carby." While Kirby has always had the ability to inhale other characters in order to absorb their powers, new gameplay of Forgotten Land reveals that when Kirby inhales certain inanimate objects, like cars, traffic cones, and vending machines, he triggers what Nintendo calls "Mouthful Mode."
Fans are freaking out over Mouthful Mode, and especially gameplay footage of Kirby zooming around with an entire car sticking out of his mouth. We won't be able to play Forgotten Land until March.
