Growing up seemed so exciting when we were kids. In our wildest dreams, we would be working our dream jobs, have an unlimited amount of funds, and have a crazy amount of independence. It would be so much cooler than being a lame little kid just going to school, extracurriculars, and playdates all day. Adulthood offered the promise of adventure, new friendships, and neverending fun. We didn't realize all the awesome things childhood had to offer while we were in it. We wish there was a way to know we were in the good old days before leaving it. We didn't realize how good we had it until we became adults and realized that adulthood wasn't all it was cracked up to be when we were kids. Nobody told us that we don't always get our dream jobs, nor the hard work that goes into trying to attain our dreams. Nobody told how much money and responsibility goes into sustaining a comfortable lifestyle, even if it's not the top-tier lifestyle we imagined as kids. We might be independent, but maintaining that independence takes a lot of money and responsibility. We've grown up, but it's nothing like what we've imagined. The Cheezcake girls really look forward to our lunch break. After slaving through all our emails way too early in the morning with nothing fueling us but coffee, we're more than ready to scarf down some carbs and spill the tea about all the coworkers we don't like as much as we like each other. There's nothing like a midday snack to get a good gossip session going. The only thing better than our lunch break is getting to go home at the end of the day. We may not be hanging out with each other, but at least we're nice and cozy at home in pajamas and Netflix.

When we were kids, we thought adults had it all figured out. The truth is none of us have anything figured out. We're just insanely good at pretending we know exactly what we're doing. When it comes to adulting, fake it till you make it rings oh, so true. So many of our close friends are incredible at pretending they know exactly what they're doing when in reality, we know that they're just as clueless as us because they feel comfortable showing their true colors when it comes to close friendships. We're all just trying our hardest to be our best selves.
