Over the course of the 21st century, we've developed yet another new, philosophical question. It's not to do with environmental issues, or the invention of AI, or even the ending of war. Instead, it deals with our capacity for entertainment. Is there such a thing as the ultimate meme?

Depending on who you ask, this could be a pretty thorny question. There are plenty of things to consider here, like what makes up the structure, what people choose to remix it with, and how it gets received by the wider public. On top of that, we've got to factor in whether it's possible to rank or categorize something as ephemeral as a meme at all. We barely know where they started, let alone the logical endpoint.

In the meantime, it makes sense just to sit back and enjoy the barrage of content that washes over our eyeballs on a daily basis. We don't have to tie ourselves in knots trying to answer the big questions, we can just consume the tiny answers instead.
