Heartwarming Stories Of Re-Homed Dogs Thriving In Their New Homes

First things first, it's important to realize that life circumstances can change dramatically, quickly. We are living in a time of uncertainty, people are going to sleep and waking up in the mornings without jobs. And yet, there is so little empathy for people who look into re-homing their pets. There is a terrible negative stigma surrounding the idea of rehoming pets, and if you ask us, it is not entirely justified. 

At the end of the day, we are all human. Our lives have a habit of changing frequently and we never quite know what to expect. Sometimes, for any number of reasons, rehoming happens to be the best decision for the animal in question. Today we came across a truly heartwarming thread highlighting a few stories of rehomed pets living their absolute best lives in their new homes, and we may or may not have held back happy tears.     Rehoming Munchie clearly was not an easy decision, but apparently a necessary one. Some doggos are just not compatible with other doggos, and need to be their human's main priority. Sounds like Munchie knows what we're talking about.

    Font - I was putting my groceries in my car when I heard barking. I said to myself, that sounds like my Munchie. After putting my cart away I heard it again. When I walked over to the truck to see...it was Munchie with his new owner! I cried so hard. I couldn't believe it. His new owner was so nice and let me pet him and nuzzle him. He brings Munchie with him everywhere. He just sits in the truck and waits.

    This reunion is one for the books! We had to hold back happy tears reading this. We can not even begin to imagine how emotional and heartwarming being reunited with your old pet whom you loved dearly can be.

    Font - He's a widower. I asked him he was doing and he told me, Munchie was the answer he needed. We talked and he told me how much he enjoys Munchie. He said he's the silliest dog (he is a goofball). He said he fits right in at his farm. He even taught him a few new tricks. When he's on the tractor, Munchie just trots along side him. At the end of a long day, he cracks open a beer and Munch just lays by his side.

    Font - I'm so happy that Munchie and his new owner are the perfect match. His new owner hugged me and thanked me. I said goodbye Munchie and he just cocked his head with his tongue hanging out.     Font - iamsce · 2 hr. ago I see a rehomed dog of mine every week. We had to rehome her for the same reasons you did. It crushed me. I was so worried she would go to a bad home I couldn't sleep. I convinced a couple who I already pet sit for to look at her. They decided to adopt her, and I get to see her when I walk their other dog. Best outcome I could have hoped for.

Both Munchie and Munchie's new owner will give each other so much love they wouldn't otherwise have had. We wouldn't have had and loved our Daisy so much if her old owners hadn't sought a new home for her, and our lives would have been poorer without her. And yes, she did see her old owner a few times after she'd been with us a while.

I loved her so much, but even after 3 months, she was acting out and chasing my cats and straight up tormenting them to the point you could physically see the stress on them (these cats got me through so many hard times and are the reason I'm stillI here today and made it to 30 years old). I tried very hard to train her to leave them be, but I guess her prey drive was much too high. I couldn't keep an eye on her every

    Font - Smalltimemisfit · 37 min. ago I'm on the other end. The family rehomed their dog to me for aggression against the man of the house. I worked so very hard with him, got him retrained and he's friendly to everyone. They ran into me on the ferry and after saying hi- they pet him and asked for him back. He was friendly with the father now because of all the work we had done. So they thought because the behavior was fixed they could just get him back from me. I said no.
