Rule number one of owning a cat: do not leave food of any variety out in ANY cat-accessible location. It does not matter what the food is, could be chicken, rice, fruit, or a stick of butter. Cats do not discriminate when approaching their victims. Anyway, for one unlucky Twitter user, it was recently discovered that her cat had been licking the stick of butter that she and her partner leave outside in true 'European' style.
"We literally just had a convo about how each of us thought the other was taking weird dented knifefuls of butter from the stick but IT WAS THE CAT, whose Velcro tongue ridges are in fact VISIBLE ON THE STICK OF BUTTER." Via Twitter. Oh sheeeet. Things got serious here, fast. We can not help but sit back and laugh at the pure comedic nature of this unfortunate discovery. Oh well, sh*t happens! The best way to go about these situations is to relax, understand that it's not the end of the world, laugh about it in retrospect, and of course to put away your damn butter.
It's not every day that you find out your cat had been licking your butter for months, but it does happen every day that you leave your butter out unattended! Better write that down, y'all, for future reference.
"IT WAS THE CAT."
You do not know how many times we read this sentence on a daily basis.
