Women Reveal Their Biggest Pet Peeves On First Dates

First dates are weird because we never know how they're going to go. Depending on the person we're on the date with, we'll either learn barely anything about them, or we'll learn way too much. Yes, there's definitely an in-between sweet spot, but it's rarely met. On most dates, the other person is either giving nothing away or everything away because they're speaking way too much about themselves without bothering to ask about you. We're not sure which is worse: having to carry the conversation on our backs because the other person is practically mute, or having to spend the whole date nodding our heads until it hurts because we barely manage to get a word in. There's so much more that can go wrong on a first date, but that's just the starting point. If we're not falling in love on the first date (which is obviously a pretty rare occurrence), then we could at least hope it won't go horribly. After all, how many horrible dates are we meant to endure until we meet that person who has exactly what we're looking for? The best we can hope for is mediocre. One of our major pet peeves is showing up to a date that we set up via a dating app only to discover that we can't stand our date's voice. We know this one is a bit childish, but we can't help it. If we're not attracted to his voice, then we won't be attracted to him. We know someone's voice is completely out of control which is why we have developed a way to weed out the guys with unattractive voices before meeting up with them in person. It's actually quite simple: have them send voice notes instead of texting, and you'll know if it's worth your time immediately. Thank us later.

This is exactly what we were talking about! If this guy's talking all about himself without bothering to ask any questions about his date, we're not sure why he even bothered to show up to the date in the first place. He could have just stayed home and talked to his boys about himself. Better yet, he could have just stared at himself in the mirror because he's clearly more in love with himself than he ever will be with you. If we can barely get a word in, we know it's time to ditch our date and get a good night's sleep instead.
