Don't get me wrong, this was done purely for my own satisfaction, but reflecting I feel l'd want to know this sorta thing if I was in guests gfs shoes. I recently started a new job as a housekeeper at a popular chain hotel and while

Font - This one room today really took it to the next level, rubbish scattered about, food jammed down the sides of the bed as well as vomit patches all over the room. It took a while to get through all the mess but toward the end of clearing I found a birthday card addressed to the guest on the floor. The card was open and read 'Happy Birthday (guest), I love you so much. Have a great birthday weekend away, I'm going to miss you so much - love Beth'. I picked up the card to bin it and when I cl

Product - Blackandorangecats 19h Evil laugh, love it. Also who the hell does this to hotel rooms??? I always leave the room tidy of rubbish etc before I go. It's just rude G Reply 4 2.9k TheBookOfSmoremon OP • 19h You'd be surprised at how some people will leave the room, I've found the most respectable guests stay in the disabled access rooms. Some even strip the sheets for us and leave them ready to go or leave a note with a tip for us, very kind

Font - jrobin99 19h That was great. Why don't hotels charge extra for cleaning up that kind of disgusting stuff? 6 Reply 286 TheBookOfSmoremon OP •19h We can charge a fee if it is blatant purposeful destruction but we try not to bill people for bodily fluid things as accidents do happen and I'm sure those suffering with health issues are already embarrassed. We couldn't bill one person for drunk vomiting then pass over the person who had flu if it became policy, we'd have to bill everyone

Font - titatyy 19h You are the reason why I always take my own used sheets of the pillow/blanket/bed and pile them with the used towels on the floor. I don't want to piss off the cleaning staff. 6 Reply 87 3 TheBookOfSmoremon OP • 19h You are one of our unsung heroes

Like seriously ma'am you wouldn't do that at home so why do I have to mop pizza sauce off the ceiling

That way slimy cheater can't pull the angle of "Baby, that wasn't in my room, I've never seen any of that. The housekeeper must have mixed up room numbers." AND as an added bonus, the girlfriend also would see just how much her bastard boyfriend cared about her thoughtful little love note, which I would bet anything was something she tucked into his luggage as a sweet surprise for him to fi

Font - HuntForFredOctober • 18h Nothing wrong with the revenge, but I have never, ever been asked for an emergency contact when either booking or checking into any level of hotel. Just sayin'. 6 Reply 1 41 3 TheBookOfSmoremon OP • 18h Our chain asks for emergency contacts as we've had a few incidents over the years of people checking in under fake names to take their lives etc. Its really sad but the company is just covering their back as some relatives will claim suspicious circumstances if the

Font - k9centipede 11h I was at a convention with a friend that got drunk and then took a bath and in the process of getting out spilled water on the floor that we easily cleaned up with the spare towel. She cried thinking house keeping would get mad about the soggy towel lol.

Redditors had a lot of respect for the way in which the cleaner had handled the (literally) sticky situation. These kinds of jobs can involve an unexpected element of unpredictability, all based on the whims of those who get to use these services however they like, and rarely face massive consequences for abusing them. It makes the satisfaction of being able to set things right even greater, although it may not be something that we always have the opportunity to do. Let this be a lesson that if you're going to do the dirty at a hotel in more ways than one, at least make sure to cover your tracks successfully.
