The average meme that we come across on our travels doesn't ask us for much. All they expect is a glance, a brief analysis of whatever the hell it's trying to say, and maybe a little stifled laughter. It's a process that takes a matter of seconds before we move on to the next thing.

Sometimes, all these image macros that we assault our eyeballs with every day won't even get that far. The internet can be a fickle place, and its many users even more so. There are plenty of memes out there that get consigned to the dustbin of history without even a second thought.

It doesn't always have to be this way, though. While there might be plenty of memes out there that are not that worthy of our attention, it's easy to miss the gold when we're sifting through all the garbage. Maybe it's time to start looking a little closer.
