A boyfriend locked his longtime girlfriend, her sister, and the sister's two children out of his home after what he had determined to be a betrayal. He has now taken to Reddit to see if he was in the wrong.
Now, this might sound really bad at first glance but give this guy a chance and let him explain.
This thread was posted to r/AmItheAsshole by the guy, Reddit user u/simpleguyy6 (OP). OP thought that his house and belongings might be at risk if he allowed his girlfriend to have continued access to the home because she had, without his knowledge, given a key to her sister.
That alone is a betrayal of trust, and this would be the case even if the sister were a Fred Rogers caliber of human. But Saint, this sister isn't. OP gives an effective description of the sister in his story, "Anna has burned most of her bridges with her family. She has two kids by two different dads. Been married and divorced twice. Hops from one sketchy boyfriend to another. Always in and out of work. Always complaining about her situation instead of actually doing anything to solve it." He describes the sister as being a "leech" even.
This doesn't sound like the kind of person you want to be allowed unfettered access to your home and belongings. Yet, despite repeatedly declining to enable her to stay with them, the girlfriend took it upon herself to let her sister have access to the home.
Read on for the full story, but this is a pretty easy verdict to reach despite how it might seem at first glance. There's no way this guy is in the wrong, and he should consider his romantic future with his partner.
