You see a freshly painted area of the house, he sees someone trying to hide a spot where the house is as soft as a freshly baked cake.

Due South Home Inspection has an oddly satisfying and entertaining TikTok—and his almost 50k followers would agree. He's not posting TikTok trends or whining about Gen-Z culture on the app, he's simply posting what he does for a living. Based in Alabama, this man inspects homes for a living. At face value, sure, it sounds like that should make some boring content. However, this guy is posting the parts of the job that are somehow attracting over 1 million likes. His most popular videos are simply him stabbing wood around the homes he inspects.
Why is stabbing wood so entertaining? Well, first of all, not many people know that you can figure out if the wood is rotten in your home simply by stabbing it—it the knife slips through like it's warm butter, then the wood is no good. And second of all, those videos are somehow so satisfying and comforting, there's nothing like a knife cutting through something easy peasy.
One viewer posted, "how do i tell my friends that i'm obsessed with ‘house stabbing’ videos." Another added, “I never imagined watching someone stab a soft house would become a niche interest of mine, but here we are.”
Besides the educational value added to his TikToks that are giving viewers a few tips to see if your house needs repairs, he also narrates his videos in a cool tone with hilarious sarcasm. His sarcastic reviews of the homes are also a reason his likes are over a million.
In one viral video he's inspecting a floor that someone didn't sweep before varnishing, so dust and even a penny are now varnished to the wood. And they even left a crack between the door from and the floor creating a gap into the crawl space. He says, “Sure you could sweep the floor before you varnish, but this floor looks really good if you kind of squint your eyes.” The sarcasm level is absolutely hilarious and he continues one he sees the gap in the floor-"They don't make them like this anymore!… What this gap is, I think it's so you don't have to use a dust pan when you sweep… and such a nice little breeze!"
In one video he's showing of a nasty crawl space and explaining what brown mold is, but there's something that quickly flashes in the background that steals the show. Viewers make out what could possibly be a large spider and it's absolutely terrifying. The TikToker's responses to the comments however are still in good humor and he seems unfazed—he is a professional after all.
