    No, kitty, clearly, this behavior does not make you an as*hole. It makes you a very wholesome loving cat. All cats are in agreement on this issue, and all cat people are in agreement on it as well. Who needs to breathe, really? The priority, of course, is to be the best cat pillow possible.

    Oh, it's always like this, isn't it? Just yesterday, we heard yet another person that they are about to become a foster fail. There is a very easy explanation for this phenomenon though, did you know that? It's the fact that it's not really you who chooses the cat - it's the cat that chooses you, and there's nothing you can do about it. Once you have been adopted, there is no way back.
