Being a dog mom/dad may just be the most rewarding thing in the world. Every time we see those puppy dog eyes, our hearts just melt into pieces. As they should. But unfortunately, not everyone will have the same attitude towards your pup like you. Many people fear dogs due to a variety of different reasons. However, usually, it's because they've had a terrible experience with a dog or a dog owner.
With that being said, the topic of today's Reddit discussion is proper dog etiquette. Etiquette is a sign of respect for the other party, no matter their age, sex, or race. Your etiquette helps those around you feel like they are in a safe space. Learning proper etiquette helps you avoid drama, stress, and insults. As doggo owners, it is our responsibility to make sure that no one is threatened by your precious pupperoo. But like with anything else in life, etiquette does have its limits; just take a look at this Reddit thread.
"The owners offered to buy us a new bird but we declined because they obviously felt bad and we wanted to keep up good relations."
That's one way to take the high road. I don't know about you guys, but if someone's pet did that to one of our animals, we don't know how eager we would be to keep up the good relations.
"The lab acted quite fearful though and since then the owners have seemed offish with us."
Don't you ever wish that dogs could talk? Imagine if we could just sit them down, have them talk this over, and come to a peaceful conclusion. Either y'all become friendly or stay away from each other. Keep the drama out.
